Playing & Nourishing

BY Instituto Marca

Instituto Marca is a non-profit organization founded in 2006, operating in the regions of Espírito Santo and Bahia in Brazil. Led by Mirela Souto, it has 5 service providers and 31 volunteers. Its mission is to support children and young people from vulnerable neighborhoods by fostering their personal growth and promoting citizenship principles. The organization focuses on education, citizenship, environment, and culture, and has already benefited over 25,000 people.

Playing & Nourishing

The “Playing & Nourishing” project aims to promote food education and access to sports for children from three rural communities in Simões Filho, Bahia, suffering from a lack of educational and sports initiatives. The project includes creating a school garden for educational and playful activities on food security, as well as renovating a sports court for safe soccer classes. It also plans to provide balanced snacks before sports activities. The project will directly benefit 259 students, 23 teachers, and 3 cooks, and indirectly more than 500 people (students’ families and service providers). It includes educational activities on nutrition, vegetable production for children’s meals, and the purchase of local agricultural products.
