NUTRIMI’KID

BY AFA CROHN

The association afa Crohn RCH France, formerly known as the François Aupetit Association, has been recognized as a public utility since 1991. It is dedicated to combating Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), with primary missions to support research, improve care pathways, inform and support patients and their families, share patients’ experiences, and represent patients to political and health decision-makers.

NUTRIMI'KID

Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease, affect approximately 10 million people worldwide. Diet is a key factor in triggering and worsening these diseases. Young patients and their parents have many questions about nutrition, and it is crucial to raise their awareness about healthy and balanced eating to prevent and manage the disease. It is within this context that the Nutrimi’Kid project fits, a comprehensive support program designed for children and adolescents suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as their parents. This program aims to provide reliable information, combat myths and misinformation, offer adapted and budget-friendly recipes, reconcile young patients with the pleasure of eating well, and promote prevention by encouraging minimally processed foods.

How?

The project includes therapeutic education workshops both in-person and online, summer camps and family stays, educational tools and cooking workshops in different regions. These activities aim to raise awareness among young patients and their parents about healthy eating adapted to IBD.
