Tekk Diego

Created in 2010 by a group of volunteers involved in local development, Tekk Diego aims to promote and drive local development. The association works on charitable initiatives in areas such as health, education, environment, agriculture, hygiene and sanitation, and rural entrepreneurship.

The project

The project involves installing a well with a solar-powered water pumping system at the Takhoum nursery and primary school, located in the very rural region of Mbour in Senegal. Its aim is to facilitate access to water to enable school gardening activities and the creation of a tree nursery. The harvests will improve students’ nutrition through the school canteen, while the nursery will raise children’s awareness of the environment and help to green the school.
